Impossible Burger has opened a new realm of possibilities for us! Nope, this post isn’t sponsored, our family just loves the stuff. We make vegan stuffed peppers, Impossible meatloaf and these meatballs all the time. It really tastes just like ground beef.
I totally understand some vegans aren’t a fan of meat alternatives, but we enjoy them. I really appreciate the huge movement happening in the food industry to reduce animal suffering. If these products help people give up meat while still enjoying delicious food, I am all for it.

The easiest recipe. So flavorful you’d think they had meat in the recipe! Make it all the time.
These were easy to make and tasted great. My husband loved them!
These were quick and easy to make and absolutely delicious! I’m sure that they could be cooked in the sauce instead of baked, but I baked mine in an air fryer and them simmered them in sauce on a low flame for about 10-15 minutes. These will be my “go to” meatballs. This recipe will be great even on busy workdays when I get home late but still want that great spaghetti and meatball dinner that the kiddos love.
Making for some vegetarian friends. I normally cook my (meat) meatballs in the sauce instead of baking first. Will that work with impossible meatballs?
It would probably work but I haven’t tried that. I toss them with the sauce after baking.
Wow these were so good. Thank you
Best impossible meatballs I’ve ever made. I followed suggestions from others and added 1/4 c breadcrumbs, some ketchup and a tad of Worcestershire sauce, along with fresh garlic and minced onion, and plenty of pepper. I didn’t add any salt because we are a low-sodium household. Consistency was perfect and they tasted fabulous in tomato sauce! Thank you!
Adding Worcestershire sauce (which contains anchovies) to a vegan recipe? Might wanna emphasize that disclaimer.
Some aren’t aware Worcestershire sauce contains anchovies. Many brands actually don’t contain it (some store brands and Annie’s brand are totally vegan.)
Excellent vegan meatballs and so good. My husband has eaten meat his entire life until recently. He couldn’t believe the weren’t made of meat. He said they were the best meatballs he’s ever had and he is not easy to please.
We are not vegetarian or vegan but have been working toward doing more meatless days and I want to say thank you for this simple starter recipe. My boys (10 and 6) loved these as is, just dipped in a little pizza sauce. I can definitely see trying some variations on this theme in the future.
I subbed in raw onion instead of onion powder and added tiny quantities of yellow mustard, ketchup, and soy sauce. Also cooked them in a pan over the stove in oil. Delicious!! This is a great basal recipe to play around with.
These were quick and easy. Plus they are GREAT. My grand daughter loves them. She ask for them when she is at my house for sleepovers. Thanks
These were great. My kids said I should make these all the time. I added some fresh garlic but no other changes.
These meatballs were great! I used them to make meatball subs. Like you, I understand that there are people who aren’t fans of vegan meat substitutes, but my family enjoys them as well, especially Impossible. I completely agree with your thoughts… my opinion has always been that the fact that they are vegan, cruelty-free, and better for the environment automatically makes them better in my book!
these are so good! thank you so much!! saving this from now on 🙂
I plan to make these soon… surprised to see there are no “binding” ingredients here such as egg, breadcrumbs, or cheese. Worried these could come out too dense? What about adding in minced onion and garlic (fresh ingredients)? Do you recommend any substitutions?
They stick together perfectly well without egg or breadcrumbs, but you could add in 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs if you prefer meatballs with them. You could definitely add in some fresh onion and garlic if you want (some readers have done this with success.)
I did add some gf bread crumb and almond milk
Look great( my dauggtercwill eat them lol)
First of all, you weren’t kidding — eleven meatballs exactly! Delicious and easy, thanks so much! I made pasta with romesco to go with these. Yum!
These are ridiculously delicious! Thank you for the recipe and I’m looking forward to trying out more recipes from your site.
I made these for Meatball Sandwiches! Absolutely perfect !!! Saute Thin dliced onions and thin sliced Bellpepper and saute with Olive oil. Add 1/4 cup red wine, Half bottle of Bertolli’s Marinara and stir…boil then reduce. ADD prepared meatballs and simmer for 15 minutes, gently cover in sauce…add more wine if too thick. Cover till ready!
Can you freeze this after making? And if so, how long?
Yes, should be fine! Freeze for up to 3 months.
They’d be better if you cut the salt in half. For people used to eating healthy food, this recipe is a complete salt bomb. Otherwise, tasty.
You can certainly change the recipe to fit your preference!
This was so *easy* and *delicious* to make! Thank you for making this terrific recipe available to all of us 😀
I would not have known that these weren’t meat if I had not prepared them. These were great!
I currently only have the impossible burger patties . Would that work as well?
Yes
This is the first recipe I’ve made with Impossible burger, and it couldn’t have been easier or more delicious! I will be making these meatballs again for sure. Thanks for the great recipe, Karissa!
Thank you so much, Amy! So glad you enjoyed them!
I used fresh parsley. Served over spaghetti squash with marinara sauce. Delicious.
